These earrings are part of an exclusive collection Suzanne created for Quercus Gallery on the theme of quercus - oak, inspired design.
Suzanne is inspired by nature (flora & fauna), biology (abstract simple cellular structures), & geometry (fundamental shape and form), either singularly or combined - all inspire her work.
Suzanne has been intuitively designing and creating one-off & production ranges of jewellery, since first graduating in 1988 with a first in 3D Design - M&J, from Bucks College, High Wycombe. She then studied at the RCA, under the expert tutelage of Michael Rowe and David Watkins, graduating with an M.A. in GSMJ, 1991.
Her Floral silver jewellery range, reflects her love of all things botanical - pressed iconic flower shapes, linear pod forms, and leaves in 2 & 3 dimensions. Robust abstraction of structural geometric forms, and graphic linear shapes, are used as building blocks, to depict charming, decorative pieces, which reflect contemporary sensibilities - modern classics.
Suzanne carefully hones her designs to create beautiful covetable jewellery - minimal clean lines and balanced aesthetics being her hallmarks. Traditional, hand-making techniques (practised for 29 years) piercing, forming, construction / fabrication techniques, soldering, finishing and oxidising - all ably demonstrate Suzanne's skill, and finely balanced eye for detail.
